The Depot’s mission is to support Mennonite Central Committee and local-faith based organizations by providing affordable goods, sourced through community donations and powered by exceptional people.
Our History
In 1975, a group of women from College Mennonite Church in Goshen, Indiana, founded the Goshen MCC Thrift shop. Located in Peddlers Village, it was originally named MCC Self-Help and Thrift Shop. Throughout the years, there was a need for more space for MCC projects, ultimately resulting in the purchase and remodeling of the rundown old depot building, near the Old Bag Factory in Goshen in 1993. This expansion held room for the thrift shop, as well as other shops, MCC meat canning and a material resources center that processed kits and comforters collected from the community for MCC. Throughout its time, the Depot has grown to occupy 23,000 square feet of retail space with an additional 30,000 square feet of warehouse and processing space
MCC Resource Center
Adjacent to the Depot is the MCC Resource Center, which focuses on providing materials and aid, such as comforters, canned meat, relief kits, hygiene items, and school supplies for communities in vulnerable situations across the globe.
